This just in from Pete Brown of Helena, Montana:

Just a quick note to let you know we broke ground in Helena today. Nothing worth photographing at this point other than some locate marks and Mark Scott cutting down some trees. Hope to get some photos out when things pick up in the next couple of weeks.

Four years of work paid off! Big thanks to the Montana Skatepark Association for their $45,000 worth of help!

Hope to see you all at the skatepark in August if not sooner.

The Big Sky community park will be holding a mini ramp contest on 7/4/09. Contest to start @ noon, $10 to enter. This will be a fundraiser for the Big Sky Skate Park. Other events to include 5k fun run, folf tournament, BBQ, live music & fireworks.

Sometime last fall, I needed to blow off some steam so I headed to Kalispell skatepark one evening. I arrived and was all bummed out because there were tons of kids there and I just wanted to roll around. As I got closer I noticed there were a couple a couple cameras out and all the kids were all jittery because some guys from the Vans team were skating there. Yeah...at the Kalispell park. So I rolled around a bit, and guys like Bucky Lasek and Omar Hassan proceeded to kill it with loftly stalefish and crazy kickflip boneless stuff, and then the did the same at Whitefish the next day. Here's some video from those days.

Also, on a personal note, I'm moving, once I'm done I swear I will post and also skateboard again. (if the snow leaves)
